Abdullah Al Raqibul Islam

Raqib

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at UNC Charlotte, where I am advised by Prof. Dong Dai. My research lies at the intersection of high-performance computing and algorithm design, with a focus on data storage systems and algorithms for sparse data.

I am on the academic and industry job markets in 2025-2026

My dissertation work explores the development of a high-performance dynamic graph processing framework optimized for emerging storage technologies, such as non-volatile memory. I am particularly interested in intelligent and adaptive data structures that enable efficient storage and analysis of evolving graph data.

Since Summer 2023, I have also been working with Dr. Aydin Buluc at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on projects related to parallel sparse computations.

Before starting my Ph.D., I worked as a Principal Software Engineer at TigerIT Bangladesh Ltd. where I led projects involving machine learning and data management systems. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
